Biking and art have been passions of mine for decades. However, several years ago I had the opportunity
to combine both of them with a biking tour through southern France. This was life-changing that set me off on literal
journey to combine my passions when I returned home, which I have been doing for over ten years.
After some trial and error, I came up with a way to stow my gear on my bike and to pedal the highways and byways.
I don't do the highways much anymore due to the dangers of distracted motorists, but country roads are still a great place
to practice plein air painting and biking.
My journeys have taken me miles
along the rural venues of southern Indiana and along the Ohio River. I was even awarded a grant by the Indiana
Arts Commission to capture my own county in this manner. Additionally, an article in the Evansville Courier was
picked up by a national news wire so I received contacts from all over the country.
The pages in this section depict some of my paintings and adventures as well as some advice for other artists who
wish to take up this special type of plein air painting.
