This is a series about food. Who doesn’t love food?
I was recently researching my photo files for another series when I realized that I have a lot of pictures of food. Meals I’ve shared or eaten alone, cooked at home or away, made for other people.
Food connects us. We use it to celebrate special occasions and events; even to mourn those who pass.
As a painter, I am always attracted to the colors and designs. Often bright colors but sometimes more subtle designs.
Food has been a subject for artists for centuries. Sometimes because it was the only thing to paint, but I like to think it’s the commonality we share as humans.
Each painting is accompanied by a little story, where it was, what was going on, etc.
But in the end, just enjoy these comforting paintings
