I can’t ever remember not being an artist

Kit Miracle is a Contemporary Impressionist whose paintings are a modern interpretation of the French Impressionists with bold strokes, atmospheric landscapes, and bright (vibrant) colors.  She celebrates the light in her landscapes, still lifes and florals, as well as interior scenes. Her figurative work features the contemplative figure, often in an outdoor setting.

With over 35 years as a painter, Kit has exhibited her oils, acrylics and watercolors in some of the most prestigious shows in the country.  She currently lives on a small farm in rural Southern Indiana, the home of the “opalescent light” so favored by the Hoosier Group.  However, she loves to paint her travels, especially taking advantage of plein air opportunities.

Look what’s new!

Exodus, Acrylic on canvas, 50 x 34

I paint nearly every day.  This is the latest painting on this website.  Check it out!

Still Lifes

The still lifes depicted here are generally from humble objects, flowers, fruits, vegetables, etc.  The flowers are always from my own garden as are many of the vegetables.  These paintings tend to be saturated with more color than some of my other work.

Landscapes

Landscapes have always appealed to me.  It’s difficult to even drive down the road without thinking of how I might portray the scenes before me.  I particularly love the play of light, especially early morning or late evening.

travel

Traveling to other places makes me see the world with new eyes.  I often return with a new vision of my own world.  Many of these paintings were painted en plein air, or outdoors.

A picture is a poem without words.
