Still Life with Blue Rimmed Bowl

I was experimenting in this painting to try the style of Cezanne.  He did a number of still lifes with fruit and bottles of wine.  I don’t think most of his color combinations were quite as bright as this but it appealed to me.  I have an extensive prop cupboard in my studio so everything except for the fruit was from there.  The bottle of wine is actually filled with colored water for the sake of the painting.  This painting has a very fresh feel and would be at home in many settings.  Painted in an impressionistic style, it shows real depth.
