Annie’s Room

Description

This homey painting offers an intimate view of the bedroom of a place I visited on Prince Edward Island.  I was attracted to the light streaming in the window, the patterns on the floor, and the overall contrast of warm and cool colors.  And, yes, Annie usually makes her bed but I caught this glimpse before she got around to it.  Painted on stretched canvas 1.5 inches deep, it is a large painting at 30 x 30.  It is impressionistic in style and painted loosely in acrylic with some texture to the paint.  The canvas-wrapped edges are painted in a neutral tone so it would not actually need framing.  It would make a great focal piece for a bedroom but would actually be at home anyplace.
